CNN International To Launch On Now Broadband TV In Hong Kong

CNN International is set to expand its reach in coverage by launching  on PCCW's  innovative  now Broadband TV service from early 2006.   CNN's award winning, global 24-hour news network offers comprehensive news coverage, business, lifestyle and feature programming, plus documentaries.

“This is an exciting initiative and another step forward in maintaining CNN International as the world's premier international news provider” said Ian Carroll, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific, Inc at the launch press conference which included news of PCCW reaching their five hundred thousandth household. “Over the years we have consistently sought out new opportunities for CNN International and this new partnership represents another development we can be proud of, growing our audience and offering our services  on PCCW's dynamic Hong Kong  platform ”, he added.

In the Asia Pacific region, CNN International operates from its fully integrated digital newsroom in Hong Kong . The journalists based in CNN International's Hong Kong regional news hub produce 30 hours of international and regional news and business programming per week, including CNN TODAY, WORLD NEWS ASIA and SPARK, while the popular weekly talk show ‘TALK ASIA' regularly features the region's hottest guests from Jacky Chan to Aamir Khan, Gloria Arroyo to Rain.

The Media Brand Values Asia survey 2005 recently confirmed CNN International as the most ‘impartial', ‘influential' and ‘trustworthy' news channel. In addition, the latest findings of the Pan Asian Cross Media Survey show CNN International is the number one pan-regional channel for business decision makers, top management and high income earners - with more than half a million more monthly viewers than all other news/business channels combined.

CNN International will feature on the now Broadband TV platform alongside CNN Headline News, the US focused news service that launched in August 2005.
